“Dann zitter ich halt – Leben trotz Parkinson” is the name of the book by Frank Elstner and Prof. Dr. Jens Volkmann. Probably the most personal book of the well-known presenter, it deals with the symptoms, treatment and prospects of Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson’s disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer’s disease. More than 350,000 people in German-speaking countries have Parkinson’s disease. But medicine has made tremendous progress, and therapy is now much more feasible than it was just a few years ago. TV host Frank Elstner, who is himself affected, and neurologist Jens Volkmann provide answers to the most important questions: What are the first signs of Parkinson’s? – What is the course of the disease? – What therapies and medications are available? – How do I talk to my doctor? – How can one live despite Parkinson?
