The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) is awarded the Health:Angel. The award for outstanding health communication goes to the evangelical network for its global commitment to people. For example, WEA supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which include improving health outcomes. With its reach of around 600,000,000 people in more than a hundred countries, the WEA makes a significant contribution to positive development with regard to global health, according to the jury. This comes about not only through international networking, but also through very specific projects implemented in the various countries by the organizations affiliated with the WEA. This long-term commitment has now been recognized by the independent jury of the competition with a Health:Angel in the Social Commitment" Category excellent.
"Shared Christian values give WEA the power to make a lot of positive things happen."
emphasizes Grand Jury President Tony Westwood. The direction and success of large organizations are often shaped by individuals. That is why WEA Secretary General Prof. Dr. theol. Dr. phil. Thomas Schirrmacher was awarded a Health:Angel.
"The jury thus recognized the exemplary commitment with which Schirrmacher and his team are advancing WEA and its goals."
Matthias Böhning is pleased, World Evangelical Alliance Sustainability Center (WEASC) about the award.
