More than five million people suffer from depression in Germany alone. The Stiftung Deutsche Depressionshilfe (German Depression Aid Foundation) has been working for many years to raise awareness of this widespread disease and to improve the situation of people suffering from depression. To this end, the foundation promotes research and is involved in training and improving care. With accompanying public relations work, the foundation draws attention to the topic and wins additional donors for the cause of the German Depression Aid. Patron Harald Schmidt, who has been committed to the foundation since 2008, is also involved and gives the topic a prominent face. The foundation is now to receive the Health Media Award 2021 for its successful communication measures. So far, however, it has not been possible to agree a date for the award with the ambassador and the foundation's board of directors.
