1LIVE/WDR awarded with Health:Angel

The digital communication concept and the support of the music industry and young listeners were convincing.

The 21st awarding of the 1LIVE Crown took place in 2020, despite the situation at the time! 3 years ago, cultural life had inevitably undergone major changes, concerts, festivals and shows had to be canceled, and the daily lives of 1LIVE listeners were turned upside down. For the editorial team, it was therefore particularly important to honor the artists for their work and to allow fans, despite all the restrictions, to vote for their favorite stars and interact with them.

1LIVE dedicated an entire day to KRONE in the first pandemic year. The award was produced as a cross-media show on 21.11.2020. At the WDR studios in Cologne-Bocklemünd, the Krone awards, concerts, talks and comedy sessions took place there simultaneously in several studios. Everything was broadcast live to the radio and stream, with listeners able to interact in a variety of ways. In the evening, a summary of all the day's highlights of the 1LIVE Krone 2020 was broadcast on WDR television.

"The Corona crisis has hit the music industry particularly hard. It particularly affects those who work in the background, but without whom artists could not make their music, their tours, their recordings. That's why it was a matter of course for us to hold the 1LIVE crown in this year of disaster. We want to set a sign in special times, without the arts and music we would all be a lot poorer."

The handover of the Health:Angel could be made up for and took place on 20.6.2023 in Cologne.
